Dust off your system spec sheet, it's time. Beta signups have begun for The Old Republic. Pulling the trigger a day early on an RSS feed post, SWTOR.com hinted that the beta signups were coming soon, but no one expected them to happen the very next day. The signup official announcement came and within a matter of minutes, the entire Old Republic site went down. Keep your eye on this URL for the first available opportunity to get in on this action. As per most beta signups, its probably going to help if you have been a long term member of the community and have beta tested games previously: http://www.swtor.com/tester Enjoy.

There were rumors of a 2009 release date for SWTOR. I don’t think that is realistic but I would be inclined to expect an Old Republic beta towards the end of this year.
