I did the math. Small-batch custom work comes with long lead times and steep costs — way too tricky.
The customer then reached out to Chinese suppliers.
The Chinese supplier said: “Have a concept? We can work with that!”
They offer sampling for tiny orders and full-scale mass production for large ones. They can make nearly anything.
The only downside: once rivals spot your bestseller, lookalikes will soon fill the whole market.
